Had to. always reblog yes, this will always be an automatic reblog. consider the implications of that. so many people out there wonder where this trend of bullying comes from, why kids are out there killing themselves because they’re gay, or they’ve been harassed because other kids think they’re gay. things like this? this is why. our entire social construct as a country is designed to plant that seed of hatred from the very beginning. for fuck’s sake, look how long we’ve had bigotry and prejudice openly present in our laws. when you tell people that they can’t marry or adopt children because they’re a same-sex couple, when you tell them that they cannot serve in the military if they’re openly gay, you are telling them it’s not okay to be exactly who they are and you’re telling our younger generations that it’s okay to hate people for their sexuality. a detail that does not define most people on the face of the planet. when you endorse a heteronormative lifestyle by accepting totally and without question people who are straight, yet ask someone who identifies as LGBTQ when they first knew they were gay — you are teaching our children that there is a difference that doesn’t actually exist and that being gay is a choice, not something you’re born as. well, i want to know — when did you choose to be heterosexual, america? oh, you didn’t? you were born just that way? interesting. don’t be so surprised at the suicides and the bullying, these things aren’t new to our culture — they’re only just now being more openly discussed. it’s a shame, though, that even this discussion isn’t enough to make people more aware of the prejudice they perpetuate in their daily lives, nor will it awaken a government that honestly does not belong in my living room, wallet, or bedroom. Not only America. The whole world is as stupid as that. Unfortunately.

Some time after this photo was taken &amp; it was investigated, a pool crew member recalls 3 drownings taken place in the very pool years ago.
